Hello ~ Today I will begin our family journal. Sunday June 13th 2010. Summer is early here on Maui and for the Paulsons its already in full swing. We spent Memorial Day week at a condo in Wailea where Spencer got very comfortable swimming with a life jacket on. Now he is looking forward to summer swim lessons at Maui Swim Club & hopefully before the age of 3 he will be an avid swimmer. Natalie is home from college for the summer & enjoying tanning & hanging out with friends. She got a job at " Da Kitchen" Which so far she hasnt been very enthusiastic about. She will be returning to KCC in the fall with a full tuition scholarship & a teacher assistant job for Sociology. At this time it also looks like she will be provided with free housing in Hawaii Kai ~ . She is also spending time with her BF Donaven who lives & works in Lahaina. Nicholas is still in Alaska on a patrol with the USCG. He is aboard the Sherman a 378`cutter. It is a 110 day patrol that will commence in 27 days on July 10th. When he departed from Alameda California on April 5th , Robert, Spencer & myself saw him and his crew off at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. Nicholas has been in the USCG for almost exactly one year to date. He quickly worked on his rating and he is already a Boatswain Mate . He is learing navigation on the ship and he actually "drives the ship" on 4 hour shifts every day. Robert is an active Realtor here on Maui and very busy every day with folks looking to buy , sell or dream about purchasing Maui homes. I am loving life working 3 consecutive 12 hour shifts as a Psychiatric R.N. at MMMC. Then having 4 days off to be with my family.I love the job but I love my family even more. Next comes the garden , I would say that my current passion is growing citrus trees and Palm trees. They just cant grow fast enough for me. I spend alot of time watering them and just wondering what those palms will look like in 20 years and hoping Im here to enjoy them. Our Lemon tree has about 200 baby lemons right now, while our Lime only has about 6 fruit , and the Tangerine 3 fruit. Oh and did I mention all the flowers .....
